The four roles
You are the owner of the workspace you created. There are three roles to give other people: Subcontractor, Team Member and Admin.
Money is the line
The roles differ mainly in which numbers they can see, and this is enforced on our servers rather than hidden in the app. Figures a role may not see are removed from the data before it reaches their device.

A Team Member can quote and invoice without seeing your buy prices. That is the point of the middle row: office staff can do the whole job without your supplier pricing being part of it.
A subcontractor sees no dollar figure anywhere. Not a job value, not a line price, not a balance, not an hourly rate, not a total on a report.
What a role does not change
A role does not decide which jobs a person can see. Everyone in your workspace sees the workspace’s jobs, contacts and schedule.
If you want someone looking only at their own work, that is a view, not a role. Point them at My Jobs, which shows the jobs assigned to them.
This is worth being precise about because it is easy to assume the opposite and then be surprised. The role controls which fields appear and which actions are allowed. It does not partition your workspace.
What a role also controls
Beyond money, roles decide who can act:
- Owners and admins manage the workspace: settings, boards, the team, integrations and billing.
- Team members do the office and field work: contacts, jobs, documents, scheduling, and messaging customers.
- Subcontractors work jobs: tasks, photos, time and notes.
Recording a payment is separate from editing a job. Team members can record one and send a payment link; deleting a payment is limited to owners and admins, because deleting one erases the record of money.
