Working with subcontractors

Bring in outside crews without showing them your margins.

Why the role exists

You want someone to do the work, see the address, tick the tasks and upload the photos. You do not want them to see what you charged for it, or what it cost you.

That is the whole shape of the subcontractor role.

What they can do

Work the job: tasks, photos, time and notes. They see the customer, the property, the access notes and what needs doing.

What they never see

Any dollar figure. Job values, line prices, totals, balances, hourly rates and every money column on a report are removed before the data leaves our servers.

It is not hidden in the interface. The figures are not on the device to be found, so it holds however they are signed in.

What they cannot hand out

Subcontractors cannot create a customer portal link or a payment link. Both expose a customer’s balances, and this is the role that does not see balances.

Getting them on site

A subcontractor does not have to live in the app. The day before a booking they are emailed a visit link for their work, which opens the job without a sign-in.

That is usually enough for an occasional crew, and you can still invite them properly when it is worth it.
